Rev. Philip's Prayer

AUGUST 18, 2009

Summer Appreciation and Fellowship Party, Kyoto.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for all the things that you have given us. There are many people who have not been given as much as we have today, but still somehow find a way to celebrate life and the many blessings that you have given all of us. All of your children live and accomplish miraculous things every day.
We have all been given certain gifts and talents. Some have more, some have less, but we are all unique and special.

Help us to use those talents, whether it be the ability to laugh, to smile, or to encourage others to strive to do your will.

Help us to not take for granted the simple blessings of our life – our family, our friends, the place where we live, or even our ability to simply breathe.

We pray not for more, but for an understanding and grateful satisfaction of who and what we are right now.

Help us to live the life that you have planned for us with a Godly purpose.

We will often fail, but even those failures are blessings. They serve as steps upon which we can one day victoriously step upon, and use to slowly, but surely, become the wonderful, unique individuals that you intend for us to be.

For all of these blessings that you have given us during the many stages of our life, we are forever grateful. Please help, guide, and protect us on your eternal road of Life, now and forever.

AMEN

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalms 118 verse 24.
