Advent Dates for 2011


• November 27 - First Sunday of Advent
• December 4 - Second Sunday of Advent
• December 11 - Third Sunday of Advent
• December 18 - Fourth Sunday of Advent

In Western Christianity, Advent begins on the fourth Sunday prior to Christmas Day, or the Sunday which falls closest to November 30, and lasts through Christmas Eve, or December 24. When Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, it is the last, or fourth Sunday of Advent.

In Eastern Orthodox churches which use the Julian calendar, Advent begins earlier, on November 15, and lasts 40 days, rather than 4 weeks.

10th Anniversary of 9/11

On the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, The Kamogawa Church extends our deepest and most sincere condolences and prayers to ALL the victims and their families who were tragically affected on that infamous day, ten years ago. Especially, for all loved ones whose time with us was cut short, we pray that in Heaven their souls have found peace.

Our church strives to understand and appreciate other religions, and live peacefully with all people of different cultural and religious backgrounds. We pray that cultural and religious differences and misunderstandings throughout the world may be overcome peacefully, and NEVER through violence.

A Prayer for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11

Tohoku Earthquake/Tsunami

Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to all of those affected by the Tohoku earthquake and resulting tsunami and damage of nuclear power plants. We pray for all victims, and pray that relief reaches those in need as quickly as possible.
